U.N. International Year for People of African Descent, 2011

On 10 December 2010, the United Nations held a special event launching the International Year of People of African Descent, 2011. The United Nations declared 2011 the International Year for People of African Descent in resolution A/RES/64/169, which was adopted by the General Assembly on 18 December 2009.
